Many of the marine mammals at Vancouver Aquarium were rescued by the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Society, Canada’s only dedicated marine mammal rescue centre. For more than 60 years, the organization has rescued, rehabilitated, and released over 3,000 marine mammals, responding to more than 300 emergencies each year.
