Tropics Inshore waters, typically seen on the bottom or on reefs.

Size: Up to 95 centimeters

Not all sharks are large and imposing; bamboo sharks have surprisingly slender bodies. Their slender bodies allow them to glide between coral branches and hide in reef crevices.

The whitespotted bamboo shark is nocturnal, resting in reefs by day and feeding at night. All sharks are fed mostly herring and squid, sometimes mackerel, and occasionally other fish.

These sharks prefer inshore waters and are usually seen on the bottom or on reefs in the tropics.
