Join us for a program that takes you to meet the Vancouver Aquarium’s resident sea turtle, Schoona. Guided by an Aquarium interpreter, you will start in the Animal Encounter room to hear amazing stories of this sea turtle’s rescue before heading to the Aquarists’ kitchen to make up a healthy meal. Then get ready to visit the shark penthouse to participate in Schoona’s daily feeding session.
This is a rare opportunity to view our shark penthouse during your visit to meet our resident sea turtle.
You’ll also see what a day is like in the life of a Vancouver Aquarium tropical biologist.
Throughout this entire adventure, you’ll receive an intimate look at the many conservation and research programs and initiatives that the Aquarium is involved with.
We want you to enjoy your behind-the-scenes experience. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns. No concern is too small; the more information you can provide about yourself, the better prepared we can be for your experience.
Program requires participants to stand and kneel for extended periods of time, go up and down stairs, walk on wet and slippery surfaces and be above the water on an unstable dock. Closed-toed shoes are required. Please advise us of any special needs. Cameras are not permitted within the habitat for animal safety reasons.
