For Home Learners: 

We have multiple Virtual AquaSchool series that are open to individual registration throughout the year. Registration closes 48 hours before the start of the first workshop.

Before booking, please have the following information available:

• The date and time of the program that you wish to register for


• Name of the participant(s)


• Age of participant(s)


• Parent/Guardian’s phone number and email address


• Any information about their learning style that you would like us to know


• Credit card information

For those associated with a home learner organization that pay for program fees, here are two ways to register:

• Home Learner organization registers and pays on your behalf. Home learner organizations can create their own account, input your information and pay online.  The organization will receive a confirmation and receipt that they will need to pass on to the participant’s guardian. 


• Participant registers online and home learner organization reimburses. Participant’s guardian creates their own account and enters their information including payment. They receive their own confirmation email and receipt without having to go through a third party. They then submit their payment information to their organization.

*Note that we are unable to process payment by cash, cheque, or invoice*

• 4 x 60 minute online workshops (once a week) designed by a team of trained educators


• Curated resources to help you continue the conversation with your learner(s)


• Access to an online community with discussion boards and resources 

• Programs require a strong internet connection, and access to a video/sound system


• We will be using the Webex platform for our programs


• We recommend downloading Webex onto a desktop computer


• Alternatively, Webex works on most web browsers (we recommend using Google Chrome) or on many smartphones


• After a program is booked, you will receive information on scheduling a tech test with the coordinator


• This is an informal 10-15 minutes practice run to ensure that the technology is working as expected 

For Group bookings: 

Cancellations by the school or organization with more than 14 days notice prior to the first program date is subject to $100 cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than 14 days notice are not eligible for any refund.

For Individual bookings:

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the first date in the series will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Any further missed dates in the series will not be refunded nor rescheduled. 

Ocean Wise is a non-profit society dedicated to ensuring that the oceans are healthy and flourishing.  Our mission is to inspire the global community to become Ocean Wise by increasing its understanding, wonder and appreciation for our oceans. 

Our fees go towards maintaining the needed infrastructure of our top tier education programs, including: the care and feeding of the animals, maintaining the extensive physical demands of a heavily plumbed building, and retaining world class and highly educated biologists and teachers to engage your students. We keep our school program fees as low as possible, with our education department working just short of a cost recovery basis based on the requirements just listed. Ocean Wise’s 2019 Annual Report can be found here.
