Work Experience Placements for Highschool StudentsThe Vancouver Aquarium offers a wide range of Work Experience placements through the year. These placements are a valuable support to the Aquarium mission, staff and volunteer team. Students will learn new skills and gain an understanding of the Aquarium work site. Placement opportunities are emailed directly to high school work experience coordinators. We accept placements at many times during the year, based on departmental and organizational needs. There are a limited number of opportunities so advance planning is essential. Arrangements must be made by the coordinating teacher. Onsite training, supervision and evaluation is provided. These placements are open to students grades 10-12 (occasional age restrictions apply). Benefits to Work Experience Placement students: -completion of Government requirements for graduation -letters of reference upon succesful completion of program -staff discounts while an active Work Experience Student -opportunity to work closely with Aquarium staff on a variety on programs Work Experience placements are offered to all highschools in the Greater Vancouver Area (and beyond, if there is interest).
