Behind the Birth

Jump in the water with the Marine Mammal trainers to witness the birth of our baby beluga... in high defninition! Taking place in the GoldCorp Ocean Theatre, "Behind the Birth" combines amazing video footage with live interpretation to bring you closer to the birth of a beluga than the public has ever been before. Beluga Show
Take a trip to the far North of Canada to meet our intriguing and curious Beluga whales. Explore the extreme forces of nature that Belugas face in their Arctic homes and find out how we can ensure their safety for generations to come. Note: There are currently no Beluga Shows running, but baby beluga talks will be happening at various times throughout the day. (back to top)


Beluga Training Session
Step into the rubber boots of a marine mammal trainer and discover what it is like to train Beluga whales. Who knows, you may even be able to use our training techniques on your pets and loved ones at home… Note: There are currently no Beluga Training Sessions running, but baby beluga talks will be happening at various times throughout the day. Dolphin Show
Visit BC’s Wild Coast during this show to meet our social and acrobatic Pacific White-sided Dolphins. Discover how research is revealing more about the lives of these animals and what we can do to reduce what is threatening them in the wild. (back to top)

Seal and Sea Lion Talk
Join us in the BC Sugar Pool Exhibit as we explore the mysterious decline of the world’s largest sea lion – the Stellers sea lion. You’ll get a glimpse into the lives of our sea lion training team and find out about the ground breaking research happening here at the Aquarium with these amazing animals. (back to top)

Sea Otter Feed
Come watch our world famous sea otters as they eat a tasty meal in this feeding session. Best known for holding hands on You Tube, these adorable otters will steal your heart! Learn about the important role they play in the ocean ecosystem and how you can help to protect them. (back to top)

Creatures off our Coast
Join us in the Pacific Canada Pavilion for a meet and greet with BC’s underwater neighbours. We may have the aid of a SCUBA diver to help out with introductions or maybe we'll watch the animals enjoy a meal. Surprisingly, we might have more in common with these aquatic creatures than you think. (back to top)

Discover Reef Sharks
This is a show for those who fear sharks and those who have fallen for sharks. Come to the Tropic Zone to learn about these awesome guardians of the ocean and their true role in the oceans ecosystem. One of our fearless divers may help us with this quest...will they make it out unharmed? Join us to find out…  (back to top)

Bird of Prey Talk
During this talk in the Goldcorp Ocean Theatre, you’ll have the chance to meet with a bird trainer and either Brinly, the great-horned owl or Rudy, the red tailed hawk. Hear their stories and find out how they came to be with us at the Aquarium. Also, find out why these birds are such great predators off the coast of BC.  (back to top)

Think Again
Woof! We know a lot about the animals around us and what their sounds mean. ROAR! But what about animals that live far, far away? Check out the Aquarium’s newest show that reminds us to think again about the animals that we know and love, and animals that we might need to give a second chance! (back to top)

Family Program
Swim like a shark, jump like a dolphin, or roll like a sea otter during our Family Programs in Clownfish Cove. Enjoy a variety of activities such as storytime, animal-themed dances, sing-a-longs, puppet shows and crafts in this interactive program designed with kids (0-8 years of age) and their guardians, in mind.  (back to top)

Archerfish Feed
Do you think Robin Hood is impressive with his bow and arrow? Archerfish are nature’s Robin Hood! These small Indonesian fish have a talent like no other to find their food in the leaves and branches above the waters surface. Join us for this feed and have a “spitting” good time! (back to top)

Frog Critter Corner
Leap into the fantastic world of frogs! Check out our new Frogs Forever? gallery during this show for a morning feeding session and find out how frogs help us and why we should help them! (back to top)

Amazon Critter Corner
This is an exciting chance to meet one of the smaller animals that lives here at the aquarium. Learn about why these creepy crawly animals are so amazing and why they are important to us. You'll also get the chance to have an up-close-and-personal encounter with one of our live insects or millipedes. (back to top)

Shark CSI
In the waters off the coast of BC, crimes against sharks are considered a serious offence. This is the investigation into one of these crimes. Join us in the Goldcorp Ocean Theatre for a shark dissection with a murder mystery twist. (back to top)

Wet Lab
Come on in for a special look at our wet lab. This is a chance for guests to get a sneak peak into what goes on behind the scenes at the Vancouver Aquarium. The wet lab is a great place to learn about our BC coast and get to know some of the amazing animals you can find right here in our own back yard. (back to top)

Touch Pools
Get wet as you dive under the surface for a chance to explore the lives of British Columbia's invertebrates. You will have the chance to touch a variety of intertidal animals like sea stars, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and maybe even sea anemones!  (back to top)

Predator Meets Prey
Science has never been so frightening… or fascinating! Guess which west coast invertebrates are friends and which are foes, and test your theories in this awesome, action-packed experiment. (back to top)



Butterfly Critter Corner (seasonal)
Enjoy the opportunity to take a glimpse into the world of butterflies as you witness the emergence of the newly formed butterflies, and experience the beauty of their first flight through the rainforest. Learn more about these amazing insects and their role in the natural world through this informative and interactive program. (back to top)

Salmon Stream Tour
Join us outside the walls of the Aquarium for this tour along the BC Hydro Salmon Stream Project in Stanley Park. Learn about the life cycle of Pacific Salmon and their importance to our forests. Finally, go behind-the-scenes into our salmon hatchery and be inspired to help salmon in the wild! (back to top)
