Goodbye Salmon Fry

On June 7 & 8, 2003, in honour of Oceans Day the Vancouver Aquarium invited the public to help release hundreds of baby salmon in the First Annual Goodbye Salmon Fry. This free event, hosted in partnership with the Vancouver Park Board, took place at the BC Hydro Salmon Stream Project in Stanley Park. This is the first time the Aquarium has invited the public to help send thousands of young salmon off on their journey to the Pacific. This celebration of Oceans Day included a tour of the Stanley Park salmon hatchery, and for kids 12 and under the thrill of releasing their very own live salmon into the stream! Other activities include Gyotaku fish printing, guided walks, fish feeds and special shows.
