It's a Cat Eat Dog World

Dr. McCaw, a dentist, and Bob Elliot, an ex-commercial fisherman, co-developed a new salmon pet food to address tooth decay problems for dogs and cats. They use parts of chum salmon - also called dog salmon - that would otherwise be wasted.

"After I sold my boat, I had to decide what I wanted to do 'when I grew up.' I decided in Mexico and Hawaii sitting on the beach. I looked up on the web and found that the pet industry was $38.7 billion in North America. I came up with two or three recipes in my kitchen. Then I outgrew that and bought industrial equipment. We make salmon treats for your pets. The treats will have salmon back bones in them. They give the dogs calcium along with the cheese we add. Cats get salmon and rice coated treats."

- Bob Elliot
