VANCOUVER AQUARIUM OPEN AFTER LAST NIGHT’S STORM
Announces $16,426 donation to Stanley Park Tree Fund
Vancouver, BC: The Vancouver Aquarium and Stanley Park are open to visitors. All trees that fell in roadways after last night’s storm are clear and access is now available to the west side of the park.
In response to extensive damage to Stanley Park from December’s windstorm, the Vancouver Aquarium is pleased to announce, today, that it is donating a total of $16,626 to the Stanley Park Tree Fund to help with replanting trees in the park. The Aquarium started the fund with an initial $5,000 donation, and matched the $5,813 in cash donations made on-site by visitors during the busy two-week period ending on January 5, 2007.
This weekend wraps up the Aquarium’s winter Beluga Bash, which includes lot of fun activities such as performances by children’s entertainers Bobs and Lolo, crafts, face painting, a scavenger hunt, and additional dolphin and beluga shows. The Aquarium is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
