GIVE GREEN GIFTS THIS SEASON FROM THE VANCOUVER AQUARIUM

Adopt an Aquarium animal: Haven’t you always wanted a dolphin, sea otter, beluga whale or octopus to call your very own? Through our Aquadopt program, every adopter will receive a Certificate of Adoption including a picture of their adopted animal, facts about the species, a Vancouver Aquarium sticker, a holiday card from your animal and an invitation to the Aquarium’s annual ‘Family Reunion’ for all the animals’ adopted families. Packages are $50 per year.

Adopt a Killer Whale: Support research on wild killer whales by joining the Wild Killer Whale Adoption program. For just $54, your gift will provide your recipient with an ID photo and biography of the adopted whale, an adoption certificate and a CD of B.C. killer whale sounds. Annual Membership: When there are over 70,000 animals to interact with, it’s hard to see everything in one visit! Buying your loved ones an individual or family membership means that they can enjoy the Aquarium all year long! Membership includes free admission for the year, discounts and access to special Members-only events. Family memberships are also available for $110.

Trainer Tours and Beluga Encounters: Go behind the scenes and step into the boots of a marine mammal trainer. Get interactive with our belugas, sea otters or Steller sea lions in an exciting hand-on experience where visitors prepare a meal for the animals and then get to feed and train them. It’s a gift that your recipient will never forget! Prices range from $25 plus admission to $175 all-inclusive.

Sponsor an exhibit: Would you like to tell a million people how special someone in your life is? Consider sponsoring an exhibit in the name of your family, staff team or business. Select an aquarium exhibit and then a brass and silver fish plaque bearing the name of the recipient will be placed in front of the chosen exhibit for one full year. Prices begin at $1000 annually.

Take a trip: For that truly special person, why not take them on a Vancouver Aquarium trip to Haida Gwaii in the Queen Charlotte Islands? Narrated by Aquarium marine biologists, you can explore the eastern and southern shores of Moresby Island, where you’ll see ancient Haida villages, an incredible abundance of wildlife and outstanding wilderness scenery. Trip dates are June 18-28, 2007.
