VANCOUVER AQUARIUM OPEN
Vancouver, BC: The Vancouver Aquarium is open for business during the strike action by city union workers, as it is not owned nor run by the City of Vancouver.
The Vancouver Aquarium is a non-profit, self-supporting organization, which receives no annual operational funding from any level of government. Its employees are not part of the City labour dispute and will be working as usual.
The Aquarium is open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a full slate of shows daily. This Saturday is the kickoff of Shark Week, a celebration of sharks and their important role in the ocean’s ecosystem. Special programs include dive shows, shark feeds, interactive carts and hands-on activities.
