An Interpretative Specialist from the Vancouver Aquarium is on board to provide you with fascinating information on our local aquatic environments and marine mammals. Next, you will pick up your custom-made picnic baskets from the Cannery Restaurant Pier then continue on to Reed Point Marina in Port Moody. Here you will have the rare opportunity to see and interact with Steller Sea Lions up close. These special creatures are part of a UBC and Vancouver Aquarium Research Project studying their decline in the wild. Children must be aged 12 and up. Not available in July and August.

Local glass blower, Sol Maya, is internationally recognized for his unique glass blowing technique and one-of-a-kind pieces. This deep iris-blue, hand blown glass bowl is from the “Cosmic String” series. Sol has always felt there is a strong connection and similarity between glass and water; glass is like liquid transparent rock and like water has the capacity to embrace the light from the sun.
This unique bowl can sit flat on a table top or can be easily hung on a wall using Sol’s simple hanging system. A conversation piece regardless of where it is displayed, it will be bring light and energy to its surroundings. Dimensions are 21 inches diameter by 8 inches high.

One of the best point guards to ever play the game, B.C.’s very own basketball star, Steve Nash, has hand signed this authentic Team Canada game jersey. Nash won back-to-back Most Valuable Player Awards in 2005 and 2006, and placed second in the voting for the MVP Award in 2007, putting him on the path towards a future Hall of Fame induction. Nash was captain of Canada’s basketball team at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and also played with Canada at the qualifying rounds for the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics.
