Rescue Costs
Rescue and rehabilitation of marine mammals is a very labour-intensive process. We are lucky to have many dedicated volunteers who give their time to this important program. Still, costs of medications, veterinary care, animal food, and more… it all adds up!
The budget of the Marine Mammal Rescue Program is funded entirely by donations and grants. Each year our costs for the rescue centre increase, and this doesn’t include exceptional cases like Daisy, the stranded harbour porpoise who was successfully rehabilitated in 2008.
