Sea Sensations

Recommended for Kindergarten to Grade 2
Sea Sensations is designed to inspire wonder, curiosity and marine stewardship in students by diving into the colourful world of marine animals. Sea Sensations is the classroom version of our "Staying Alive" School Program and provides students with an extraordinary hands-on opportunity to explore the underwater world by observing, discussing, and touching live aquatic animals and props from the comfort of beyond the Aquarium's busy galleries.

Through this experience, students discover that they can use all their senses to learn about animals. The program opens with an interactive puppet show followed by students dividing into smaller groups at the helm of an experienced, friendly and knowledgeable educator to visit a variety of stations with props and live animals. These include: a sea turtle shell, an octopus beak, a shark jaw and live invertebrate animals such as live sea stars, sea urchins and sea cucumbers, among much more. The program concludes with a conservation message and direct action plan for students to do their part in conserving the planet.
