Recommended for Grades 2- 7
Can you imagine travelling thousands of miles from home through unfamiliar territory in search of food, narrowly escaping voracious predators, and then safely returning home years later without even using a map? Salmon have been living this amazing adventure for thousands of years and yet, it still fascinates us! How do they do it? Join us for the telling of this intriguing tale, a favourite of ours and if it isn’t already, is soon sure to be one of yours too.
In this program, students will discover the importance of Pacific salmon as they “migrate” through the Aquarium’s ecosystem-based galleries. They will become more aware of salmon life history, their cultural and economic significance, and the key conservation issues surrounding their welfare.
Salmon Tales is offered over one semester from October 11 to December 13, 2011. Please see below for semester details.
