Incredible Camp Experiences

AquaCamps offer your children a fun, educational experience never to be forgotten. Our camps are filled with hands-on activities, animal observations, crafts and time to run around outside to fully engage your children in an environment that encourages active learning. Children will learn about local and exotic animals, life cycles, food webs, adaptations, ecosystems and sustainability.

Youth Environmental Leaders Programs provide youth with the opportunity to take action in the conservation of aquatic life.  Participants will be fully immersed in conservation and sustainability workshops led by our educators, experts and scientists.  A variety of daily topics, hands-on experiments and guest speakers will allow youth to explore the effects of their everyday behaviour on the environment and those we share it with.

New! Marine Explorers Camp on Gambier Island

Marine Explorers 1: Sunday July 26th – Friday July 31st 2015
Marine Explorers 2: Sunday August 30th – Friday September 4th 2015

Camp Latona and the Vancouver Aquarium have come together to offer the ultimate aquatic camping experience!  Campers will spend time discovering marine life and ecosystems in the natural salt water and fresh waster environments of Howe Sound.  Campers will have a chance to explore the incredible diverse marine life of the Howe Sound with the guided skills of the Vancouver Aquarium.  Teamwork, leadership and how to build a shelter are some of the skills and talents taught by Camp Latona staff.  This unique aquatic camp will have campers kayaking along the coast exploring the amazing ecosystem of Howe Sound, hiking along the natural freshwater streams to explore the habitat of the indigenous newt and see the life cycle of a frog.  Campers will learn sustainable camping, a leave-no-trace mentality and respect for the environment.  From Ziplines, challenge courses, to natural ecosystems and sustainability, campers will have a chance to see, hear, observe and experience the best of the BC coast.  Through learning and playing in the natural environment, the Vancouver Aquarium and Camp Latona will impart lifelong skills of perseverance, respect, compassion, appreciation and awareness for the world around us.
