Plan An Exciting
AquaVan Event

The Vancouver Aquarium AquaVan, presented by BC Hydro brings an incredible learning experience with live marine creatures and unique items to you. Book an event and inspire your students or your community to help conserve our fragile marine ecosystems, and ensure our oceans are healthy and abundant for years to come. 

What You Need To Plan An Event

Set Up Requirements 

  1. A secure indoor program presentation space - 60' x 40' e.g. gym.
  2. Level parking space for the 35' (10m) AquaVan that is near:    
    1. A wheelchair access ramp so that we can wheel our materials into your program room.  
    2. Two electrical outlets (110V, 15 amps, separate breakers) for our on-board life support systems.
  3. Set-up takes place one to one and a half hours before programs begin, or the day before: we also require one to one and a half hours for packing up.
  4. We will bring in the live animals from the AquaVan just prior to the programs.

School Program Fees

  1. Fees are based on a per student rate with a minimum daily fee of $1,100 (plus applicable taxes) for up to 100 students.
  2. A fee of $11 (plus applicable taxes) is required per student over 100 to a maximum of 150 elementary students or 120 secondary students.
  3. There are a maximum of five program hours per day.
  4. A non-refundable deposit of $350 is required in order to confirm your booking.

Note: Thanks to the generous support of our Partners in Aquatic Education, the cost of having the AquaVan visit your school is uniform across British Columbia.

Community Program Fees

The fee for our Living Waters Community program is $1750 (plus applicable taxes) for up to five hours of programming.

A non-refundable deposit of $350 is required in order to confirm your booking.
