AquaVan programs are designed to inspire the stewardship of all aquatic habitats and encourage the discovery of connections between animals, environments and ourselves. All AquaVan programs supplement the B.C. school curriculum, satisfying a wide range of the Prescribed Learning Outcomes outlined in the Ministry of Education's Integrated Resource Packages.

In small groups lead by an AquaVan Educator, students will explore and discover how animals survive in different aquatic environments. By observing, discussing and touching live marine animals, students will be connected to the underwater world and learn how their actions impact the health of our fragile marine ecosystems.

This program intoduces students to several important marine phyla, echinodermata, arthropoda, mollusca and cnidaria. In small groups lead by an AquaVan Educator your students will participate in a fully interactive and immersive program. Through discussion and inquiry they will explore the intricate nature of marine biology and discover features of invertebrates that help them thrive in the intertidal zone.

The Vancouver Aquarium AquaVan delivers outreach education programs at schools, community events and festivals throughout Western Canada. Help us provide students with hands-on opportunities to discover and explore animals from Brithish Columbia's shores.
