Volunteers and interns have a huge impact on the operation of the Vancouver Aquarium and our mission to help protect and conserve marine life. They include high school and university students, parents, families, professionals and retirees. There's a vast range of diverse opportunities, from educating and engaging our visitors to administrative assistance and food preparation for our animals. We also rely on volunteer support in our school programs, galleries, gift shop and—for our experienced volunteers— the Marine Mammal Rescue Centre.
Every year, more than 900 people donate their time, talents and energy both in the galleries and behind the scenes.
Get some hands-on work experience in the field of marine biology, education, content development or veterinary medicine alongside our experts.
Our volunteer team is supported by work experience students. Placements are offered to local secondary school students in grades 10-12.
