Aquaquest - the Marilyn Blusson Learning Centre

An environmentally friendly building in the making

We flush with rainwater

In Vancouver, it rains -- a lot. So we’re collecting rain from our roof and storing the water in an existing tank in the basement. Anyone using the low-flow toilets in the new Education Centre will flush with rainwater.  After all that flushing, any rainwater left over in the reservoir will be used to water the plants around the Aquarium.

We’re helping our community save energy by using less of the city’s drinking water.

At home:

You can use less water with each flush at home. Just put a brick in your toilet’s tank.
