An A-Ray-Zing Experience

The 50,000L Discover Rays touch pool is home to both cownose and southern stingrays. Not only will you be able to get up-close and personal with the rays, you’ll learn all about their slimy armours, their amazing sixth sense, and why stingrays have big mommas. You’ll also find out how overfishing and other human activities are threatening rays.

Stingray Encounter

Get even closer! Go behind the scenes, meet an Aquarium biologist, and participate in an exclusive stingray feeding session during a Stingray Encounter. You’ll visit our animal food room and the stingray reserve area. And meet with one of our Tropical Waters Biologists to learn about animal care and feeding.

What’s Next?

After an amazing two years and more than 900,000 visitors, the Discover Rays gallery will be closing to make way for an exciting new major installation by internationally-renowned artist Douglas Coupland. Opening on May 18, Vortex will allow guests to connect to the escalating ocean plastics issue in an immersive, engaging, and creative way.
