Raise a glass to support the conservation of our oceans
It was another record-breaking year for Vancouver Aquarium’s Toast to the Coast, presented by CIBC, fundraising event where 650 guests came together to raise more than $145,000 for aquatic conservation, research and education programs, such as the award-winning, nationwide Ocean Wise™ sustainable seafood program.
Upon arrival, guests were invited to step inside Tin Can Studio’s vintage Streamline trailer to snap a selfie with a rustic west coast theme. Attendees then enjoyed a glass of sparkling wine and delectable oysters by The Curious Oyster Catering Company to kick off a night of delightful food and drink.
Inside the Aquarium 15 delicious Ocean Wise restaurants and dessert partners joined the celebration this year. Wine and specialty beverages also flowed freely throughout the Aquarium galleries with over 2,000 glasses poured. Partners generously donate their time and delectable goods to support the important cause of aquatic conservation, bringing the joys of fine food and wine to the festive feel of this popular annual event.
New to the event this year was the addition of the downstairs After Hours Lounge featuring the band Side One. As guests grooved to smooth tunes, friendly competitive bidding took place on over 65 silent auction items. The Spin ‘N Win wheel rattled as guests spun for a chance to win pearl earrings from Jewliette Jewellery as well as silk ties, pocket squares and a custom suit from Indochino. From start to finish, guests were delighted by aquatic habitats and engaged in unique experiences only available at Vancouver’s Aquarium.
