The Vancouver Aquarium Travel Program: Haida Gwaii

For forty years, the Vancouver Aquarium has led world-wide expeditions, seeking discovery, discourse and delight in the natural world. From the Arctic to the Antarctic, Aquarium travelers benefit from the knowledge and perspective we bring to these world adventures.

In March 2011, the Vancouver Aquarium, in partnership with Fathom Expeditions, led an incredible expedition to the Amazon and the Galapagos Islands. This 18-day program started in the famed city of Quito, Ecuador, before venturing to the Ecuadorian Amazon. An unforgettable nine-day cruise aboard the M.V. Eclipse followed around the Galapagos Islands.

Haida Gwaii 2012

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join a Vancouver Aquarium scientific expedition. Each spring, several key staff members of the Vancouver Aquarium, along with guests, book passage on an expedition of science and discovery.

The 2012 expedition heads to B.C.'s magnificent archipelago, Haida Gwaii (also known as the Queen Charlotte Islands). Haida Gwaii, known to the Haida as "Islands of the People," is a diverse archipelago of more than 150 islands located on the Northwest coast of British Columbia. From unforgettable day trips to onboard lectures, this is an experience not to be missed.
