Our Staff

Of course Aquarium staff and volunteers are key components to the success of our environmental management system (EMS). In addition to participating in the formal elements of the program, our Green Team Challenges encourage them to be "conservation minded" in all their daily activities:

Green Team Challenges

To involve everyone in our EMS we introduced "green team challenges".  Every quarter we hold events that promote a green workplace by engaging people to be part of the Aquarium's green culture, we introduce things that they can do every day at work to reduce their ecological footprint.

In March we challenged people to bring a "waste free lunch", then in June to be "green commuters", September we conserved paper, and in December it’ll be saving energy over the holidays.

December 2006 staff participated in the 12 days of holiday energy savings challenge.  Staff and volunteers were also invited to attend a lunch-and-learn screening of Paramount’s An Inconvenient Truth is a documentary on climate change.
