Inspire wonder, curiosity and marine stewardship in your students by diving into the colourful world of marine animals - from sea stars to beluga whales!

Staying Alive - Grades 2 to 4

Explore and discover how animals survive in different environments. Learn how size, shape, colour and behaviour help them stay alive, and what we can do to maintain healthy habitats in our communities!

Salmon Tales - Grades 2 to 7

Discover the importance of Pacific salmon as your students migrate through the Aquarium's ecosystem-based galleries. Become aware of salmon history, and the cultural, economic and biological issues surrounding these noteworthy fish.

Arctic Adventures - Grades 4 to 7

Experience an icy world of unexpected richness. Discover the needs and adaptations of Arctic animals with our beluga whales. Find out what it takes to survive in the cold, white and frozen world of Canada's true north.

New Program

Oceans: Trash and Treasure - Grades 3 to 5

Learn about the issues affecting oceans and build upon solutions in a fun and empowering way. Students will be encouraged to take action to ensure healthy oceans and to assume responsibility for their own behaviours.

Oceans: Trash and Treasure is new this year and will take place in one of the Aquarium's new classrooms.


New Program

Extreme Environments - Grades 4 to 7

Students will travel from the Amazon to the Arctic, exploring what makes an ecosystem. Students are introduced to biodiversity, animal adaptations and food webs in these two very distinct environments.

January 7, 2008 to April 2008:

$11.50 per student, including GST; max. 30 students

Marine Mammals & Their World - Grades 4 to 7

Investigate how mammals in marine habitats have successfully adapted to their aquatic environment and discover how your class can contribute to their conservation.

Wet Lab Programs



Spineless Wonders - Grades 5 to 7

Get your students' hands wet investigating the adaptations of live marine invertebrates from local waters in this interactive lab program.

Les invertébrés marins de la Colombie-Britannique - Pour 5ème - 10 ème année

Dans le laboratoire de l'Aquarium, les élèves découvrent les caractéristiques des invertébrés et se familiarisent avec les principaux embranchements en observant les animaux vivants.

Outdoor Programs



Salmon Sleuths - Grades 4 to 7

Students migrate along the BC Hydro Salmon Stream Project in Stanley Park investigating the mystery of the missing Pacific salmon. The trail of evidence will lead students through city storm drains and sewer systems, into the world of neighbourhood pollution suspects, water quality testing demonstrations and community pollution prevention tips for the future.

Includes admission to the Aquarium.

Spring Beachwalks - Grades K to 12

Visit the seashore with an Aquarium educator and immerse your students in the intertidal ecology of Vancouver Harbour. This program runs for 2 hours, tides permitting.

Selected dates in May and June (please call 604-659-3552 for details)

$11.50 per student, including GST; max. 30 students

Includes admission to the Aquarium.
