Sea Sensations (Grades K-2)

Sea Sensations is designed to inspire wonder, curiosity and marine stewardship in students by diving into the colourful world of marine animals.  Sea Sensations is the classroom version of the Water Wonders School Program and provides students with an extraordinary hands-on opportunity to explore the underwater world by observing, discussing, and touching live aquatic animals and props. Through this experience, students discover that they can use all their senses to learn about animals.  Students will watch a puppet show and then visit stations with props and live animals.  Some of the props include: a sea turtle shell, an octopus beak, and a shark jaw.  There will also be an opportunity for students to touch live seastars, sea urchins and sea cucumbers.  The program wraps up with a conservation message and direct action plan for students to do their part in conserving the planet.

The Sea Sensations program was an excellent experience for the students! Lots of fun, hands-on activities and extremely knowledgeable staff and volunteers! - Lisa, Taylor Park School, Burnaby BC
