PROFESSIONAL DAY WORKSHOPS October 23rd, 2009
Register now (call 604.659.3552 ext.8) to participate in our Professional Development Workshops on October 23rd. We are offering a Waste Watchers workshop for Elementary and Secondary School teachers interested in learning more about how to incorporate sustainability into the classroom. This workshop will give teachers the skills and the supporting activities to confidently teach current environmental issues related to waste. And back by popular demand, we will be offering our Intertidal Marine Biology program. This is an opportunity to brush up on your own intertidal knowledge, and get some hands on time with our lovely invertebrates!
Have you ever wondered where to begin to inspire your class? Start by taking them on a field trip. Children have been visiting the Vancouver Aquarium and participating in our programs since we opened in 1956. Three generations of children have been engaged, amazed and inspired by aquatic animals and their habitats through close encounters with fascinating creatures and hands-on, experiential programs.
Our school programs support the Prescribed Learning Outcomes of the BC Ministry of Education's Integrated Resource Packages (IRPs) and follow the Aquarium's conservation mission.
Give your students an opportunity they will never forget!
