Sea Lions
Over 85% of the world’s Steller sea lions have vanished
and no one knows why. Since 1980, the population has plunged from
300,000 to less than 50,000! We’re worried about the sea
lions and what their loss means for the ocean ecosystem.
The Vancouver Aquarium has teamed up with researchers at the University
of British Columbia in an exciting and ambitious project to find
out what’s behind this mysterious disappearance. Steller
sea lions at the Aquarium are helping answer critical questions
that we can’t solve in the wild.
