See Where Some Past Patients Are Now
When a male porpoise found himself stranded on a rock in Saanich Inlet, the Vancouver Aquarium's Marine Mammal Rescue Centre (MMRC) took action. Our team, Cetus Research and Conservation Society, and Fisheries and Oceans Canada rescued the porpoise—named Levi. Our team has now successfully rehabilitated and released him back into the wild.
Would you like to play a role in the supporting injured and orphaned marine mammals? Consider donating to the MMRC: a hospital that rescues and rehabilitates more than 150 marine mammals each year. And if you want to keep up with Levi, you can follow his travels via his tracking tag, in the map below.
