Donations made to the Marine Mammal Rescue Centre directly affect our ability to rescue distressed animals and provide the necessary medical care that allows us to safely release them. Your donations are critical for helping us conserve already declining populations in the wild.
Rescue and rehabilitation of marine mammals is a highly labour-intensive process. We're lucky to have many dedicated volunteers who give their time to this important program. However, the costs of medications, veterinary care, animal food and more add up quickly.
Our costs for the rescue centre increase every year—and that doesn't include exceptional cases like Daisy, the stranded harbour porpoise we successfully rehabilitated in 2008.
Every donation directly funds the Aquarium's mission of effecting the conservation of aquatic life through display and interpretation, education, research and direct action.
